Very interesting stuff! Who would of ever believed that the science fiction of the past would be the reality of the future. It has been said that the technology will not be perfected for implementation in society for about another 16 years. Im not sure how strong the fears caused by movies such as "the matrix" will still control any success with this project in time. As far as science and society goes, these "self-existing/self-healing" robots will be a great breakthrough and release a great burden to society by being used for convenience. But i believe if they are a success they may spread to other uses that may hurt jobs in the future.
